1. Recruiting (0-1,600 points) -Successful recruiting is the key to building any college program. This is not different in TCY. Successful recruiting in TCY is also a reflection of how you have built your schools academics and overall prestige. -Points are awarded for each recruit in the top 1,000. 100 pts - top 20 recruit 90 pts - 21st-100th ranked recruit 75 pts - 101st-200th recruit 50 pts - top 500 25 pts - top 1,000 2. Winning games (0-1,600) -On the field success is an obvious measure of player ability. We will be using a playoff system, so there is a maximum of 16 games each year. *100 pts - each victory 3. Year end score (0-1,000) -This score is problematic for many reasons, so I didn't want to weight it too much. But, it is really the best way to include financial and academic success. *Year-end score multiplied by 10 will be added. 4. Conference Championship (0-500) -Some popular college ratings systems do not reward conference championships. However, the tradition of the conferences and college football demand a reward for winning a conference title. *500 points 5. Player Awards (0-3,000) -No one would ever earn close to the maximum amount of points here. I am only including league wide award winners, and am limiting them to major awards and 1st team honors. The Player of the Year award is not included and will be treated separately. *150 points - for each Major Award *100 points - for each 1st team All-American !!NOTE: A player only qualifies for one of these bonuses, the same player cannot earn more than 150 points in this category. 6. Player of the Year (0-1,000) -Arguably the most prestigious individual honor in all sports. A great real world measure of programs success as well. *1,000 points 7. Post-season Success (0-2,000) -Again, we will be using the playoff format. The further you take your team, the more points you earn. Points are not cumulative; they are awarded for the furthest playoff round you reach. 2,000 pts - National Champions 1,000 pts - Runner up 500 pts - Semifinal game 350 pts - Quarterfinal game 200 pts - 2nd round game 100 pts - 1st round game 8. Top 25 finish in the "BCS" Poll (0-100) -This is not weighted more because it is the culmination of many of factors that are already included in the score. In the early phases of the challenge, this will reward players who crack the top 25 but may not make the playoffs. 100 points are awarded for being in the top 25 at the end of the year. 9. Coach of the year Award (0-2,000) - In the unlikely event that someone actually wins this award, they will earn 2,000 points. 10. Bonus Points -Described in the "Bonus Points" link.
